We are REDI to Lift!

Our shared purpose at Shailer Park State High School is: Lifting Aspirations through Big Plans and Bold Ambitions for a Bright Future. Our school priorities are learning through reading and empowered engagement through deliberate informed practice.

Learning through Reading

•All students demonstrate at least one stanine improvement in reading from years 5-7 or 7-9 in NAPLAN.

•Junior Secondary demonstrate progress in PATR or corrective reading within 12 months.

•Students demonstrate improved use of vocabulary in their writing

•All students can select, explain and apply the steps (metacognitive process) to analyse, infer and evaluate across all subjects.

•All students can identify text conventions and language conventions for text types within their subject areas.

•Our student are engaged in wide reading routinely across all subjects.

•All student in years 7-8 set, monitor and review personalised reading goals.

 

Empowered Engagement

Staff:

•GALLUP Survey indicates improved engagement and well-being

•Improved SOS S2074, S3203, S3214, S3320, S3221

•100% engage in responsive Professional Development Planning process

•100% of all new teachers engage in an induction program & early career teachers are mentored

Students:

•85% of students achieve an A-C across all subjects

•95% attendance rate.

•80% of students involved in CAST activity/academy.

•85% of students achieve a <B in effort and behaviour and less that 5% achieve D or below.

•Increased attendance in whole school events.

•GALLUP Survey indicates improved engagement and well-being

•Improved SOS  S2042, S 2043, S 2044, S2056

•All students graduate with a meaningful pathway and 100% QCE/QCIA attainment.

•Improved QCS Test results - A: 25%, B: 40%, C: 30%, D <5%

•Improved OP results – OP1-5, OP 6-10, OP 11-15, OP 15>

•In all Year Levels: students show measurable improvement in achievement (relative gain) in their subjects.

•School disciplinary absences and behaviour rates decreased

•Response to Intervention

Community:

•Improved parent SOS S2024, S2025, S2026, S2027

•All requested parent teacher conferences are attended

•100% of all incoming students engage in a personalised enrolment interview

•Increased parent participation in school events

•Strengthen vocational ready partnerships to translate into student opportunities post schooling

•Academies establish sustainable sponsorship and branding partners
