Choosing a Device

​​General Notes:

Unless specifically noted, all software used in the classroom is provided by the school. Students are not required to purchase Microsoft Office, Adobe or Autodesk products. They will recieve logins & instruction on accessing this software once arriving at school.

Additionnaly all iPad applications are purchased and delivered by the school through the schools management tools except 'Intune Company Portal'. Please see the appropriate 'Setup your device' pages for more information.

Choosing a device for Junior School

Our Junior school (years 7-9) require an Apple iPad running iOS 17.0 or newer.

A List of devices that meet these requiremens can be found on Apple's website Here

Additionaly Students are required to have a Stylus or Apple Pencil and Headphones compatiable with their device.

Devices can be purchased from many major retailers and The School Locker​

Choosing a device for Senior School.

Our Senior School Students (Years 10-12) have varying device requirements based on subject selection.

For General Subjects, device requirements are very flexible. However please read through the below Subject Areas that require extra software, please consider the required/recommended specifications for the extra software.

Unfortunatly, due to technical limitations both Chromebooks and Android Tablets are incompatiable with our network.

For students with no extra software requirements, iPads are a viable classroom device. Provided they meet the requirements listed above and have a case with a keyboard.

Notes: 
Autodesk software requires a Windows x86 or x64 Device. ARM or Snapdragon CPU's are not supported.
Additionally, Autodesk software does NOT work natively on MACOS, relying on complex virtualisation tools. It is strongly reccomended that students do not purchase Apple devices with the intent to use it with Autodesk.
Discrete graphics is useful but generaly not required for the projects students are required to complete.

Adobe Creative Collection will run on both Windows x64 and MacOS devices. Some components will run on iPadOS but not all.
